Bain Capital Buys SupplyOn to Cater to Complex Manufacturing

AI Summary

Global private investment firm Bain Capital, on July 20, 2026,ย reported that it has entered into an agreement to acquire SupplyOn, which isย a supply chain collaboration platform catering to the automotive and aerospace as well as defence and other advanced and complex manufacturing industries throughout Europe, from its shareholders AUMOVIO, Bosch, Schaeffler as well as ZF.

It is well to be noted that SupplyOn has a technology platform that connects over 200 large manufacturers and tier-1 suppliers with over 140,000+ suppliers worldwide. The platform enables manufacturers an Complex Manufacturingd suppliers to work together across the whole supply chain and acquisition lifecycle โ€“ from sourcing as well as purchasing, to quality management, logistics, and invoicing along with ESG compliance, and that tooย on a single, integrated platform.

Founded in 2000, SupplyOn has become a dominant platform for the more extensive European manufacturing spectrum.

Bain Capital will work closely together with SupplyOnโ€™s management team to assist with the next phase of growth of the company. The investment will expand product funding, including bringing new AI capabilities to the platform in order to drive customer satisfaction. There will also be a greater emphasis on sales and marketing to help drive customer adoption throughout the manufacturers and defence industries where SupplyOn already has a growing footprint.

The investment of Tech Opportunities, a business of Bain Capitalย in Europe, demonstrates theย extensive experience investing in European technology and industrial companies along with long-standing knowledge in aerospace and defence. The European supply chain digitalization is evidently limited, especially in complex manufacturing. Supply chain coordination is critical for production processes as supply chains become more complex. Bain Capital is focused on maintaining the existing SupplyOn European operational footprint and data residency and governance model so that customers are able to continue to utilise the sovereignty and compliance benchmarks of the platform. SupplyOnโ€™s product quality, existing customer base and network reach mean that the company is well placed to benefit from this possibility.

The transaction is conditioned to usual closing terms and regulatory approvals.

Says Partner at Bain Capitalโ€™s Tech Opportunities team, James Stevens, “SupplyOn represents a rare combination of product quality, network strength, high customer advocacy and market leadership in supply chain coordination across Europe,” said James Stevens, a partner on Bain Capitalโ€™s Tech Opportunities team. “The company has built a deeply embedded platform that customers rely on for day-to-day operations. We see real runway to expand into adjacent sectors and invest in product capabilities that matter to manufacturers and suppliers alike.”

According to Dr. Michael Siefke, a partner and chair of Europe private equity at Bain Capital, โ€œSupplyOn builds on our long-standing footprint in Europe and Germany specifically. Through our industrial portfolio, we are customers of SupplyOn and understand the critical role it plays. We have long-standing relationships with the shareholders of SupplyOn and look forward to continuing to support their businesses into the future.”

As per Markus Quicken, CEO of SupplyOn, “We are pleased to partner with Bain Capital, which shares our long-term vision for SupplyOn as a strategic asset in the supply chain ecosystem across Europe. This partnership will enable us to accelerate our product roadmap, expand our market reach, and build on the strong foundation our shareholders have created.”
