Siemens To Automate New Manufacturing Plant of DrinkPAK

Siemens is partnering with DrinkPAK, which is one of the largest canned beverage manufacturers in North America. This is to automate state-of-the-art, new manufacturing plant of DrinkPAK in Fort Worth, Texas. With a unique mix of sophisticated automation and intelligent infrastructure, along with individualised financing solutions, Siemens empowers DrinkPAK to grow its business, preserve its top reliability ratings, enhance its energy usage and promote environmentally responsible choices.

DrinkPAK operates a North American network of facilities that batch, fill, test, and warehouse as well as distribute beverages for international beverage brands at a rate of up to 3,000 cans per minute. The two existing facilities of the company in Santa Clarita, California, as well as Fort Worth, Texas, happen to be the largest canned contract factories in the United States. This coast-to-coast network, which includes the company’s third facility, located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, scheduled to open in early 2027, offers the customers of DrinkPAK with access to the largest, fastest, and most flexible canned manufacturing resources in the world.

According to the chief strategy officer at DrinkPAK, Brian Aster, “Partnering with Siemens gave us the flexibility to scale rapidly while investing in energy-efficient automation. Their industry knowledge and tailored financing solutions have been critical to our growth and long-term success.”

Through a unique blend of financing and building infrastructure as well as digital automation solutions such as the integration of BRAUMAT, which happens to be a scalable process control system for the brewing and beverage industry, Siemens is pretty well-positioned to help DrinkPAK accomplish the highest possible efficiency.

It is well to be noted that BRAUMAT automates production based on recipes for consistent quality and productivity. It includes state-of-the-art automation components such as Programmable Logic Controllers – PLCs and Human Machine Interfaces – HMIs with real-time reporting and monitoring and facilitates safe, scalable development for both small and large producers.

In Fort Worth, for the new manufacturing plant of DrinkPAK, Siemens supplied the complete range of energy infrastructure and integrated automation solutions right from switchboards to metering so as to both drive the critical operations of the plant and enable smart power tracking for dependable, high-output performance along with energy efficiency.

Remarks Chris Stevens, president, Siemens Digital Industries U.S., “Innovation isn’t just about technology it’s about how the right technologies work together to solve business challenges. Our collaboration with DrinkPAK unites advanced automation, intelligent infrastructure and flexible financing to create a truly integrated solution. “By enabling DrinkPAK to automate complex logistics, maximise uptime and scale efficiently, Siemens turns the promise of digital transformation into measurable results: greater efficiency, reliability, and safety for our customers.”

One of the innovations in DrinkPAK also was the use of Siemens’ advanced automation components, like PLCs and HMIs, in its Automatic Laser-Guided Vehicle – AGV systems. E80 Group, DrinkPAK’s intralogistics partner, offers these systems to automate the transport of pallets within the warehouses and also assist with truck loading and unloading procedures.

Siemens technology is crucial to ensuring that this automation operates smoothly and reliably. On each AGV, PLCs from Siemens provide critical control and communication functions, precisely coordinating with sensors, drives and safety systems. The HMIs provide operators a clear and straightforward view of system performance, diagnostics and status, helping to minimise downtime and facilitating with predictive maintenance.

As per Head of Siemens Financial Services Commercial Finance Americas, Oleg Rakitsky, “This project demonstrates the power of combining technology with tailored financing. Our role is to make innovation accessible, supporting DrinkPAK with solutions that align investment with performance and enable scalable, sustainable growth.”

The DrinkPAK solution is based upon the proven industrial automation platform by Siemens and delivers a highly integrated, scalable and simple-to-maintain system. Siemens’ consistent and compatible hardware is used across the plant floor, so vehicles and warehouse systems, along with production lines, work together seamlessly. This means improved productivity, greater dependability, and safer operations.
